HellgateCSA mentioned on local blogs

A big thanks to the Joey in Astoria, and about.com crew that mentioned us in those blogs recently. We hope to have a better site up and running this weekend, but we're glad to get the extra site visits in the meantime!

If you are wondering what in the world a CSA is and how it works please take a look at this article on wikipedia.

Hellgate CSA is a Community Supported Agriculture project serving the lower Ditmars area of Astoria. Our distribution point is just one short block from the Ditmars Subway stop. If you decide to sign up an entire season (June to November) of organic veggies will cost you around $250 (exact price to be posted soon), and each week you'll get a generous helping of extremely fresh produce that was harvested the night before from a farm on Long Island. Our partner farm is named Green Thumb farm.

Our organization is community run and driven, no single person gets paid for making our CSA run, everyone volunteers for one 2-4 hour period during the season to help distribute the produce. And there is also a core group that volunteers their time to make sure everything runs smoothly. We follow the organizational structure set forward by JustFood.
If you're interested in signing up, or want to find out more please don't hesitate to contact us via our website.
